Antonio Ortiz finds again his major form in Suwon

SUWON -  The Spanish champion Antonio Ortiz is the best player on the ranking of the final qualifying round. He may count on a good draw for the main event, starting tomorrow with a knockout system. The draw of 32 players will be in the next hours.

The comeback of Antonio Ortiz, after winning the Spanish title in a tournament with all Spanish players, has been taken a long time. In the World Cup in Suwon the young player seems to be back in town: not only his first match against Joel Switala was exceptionally high in average. His second, against Korean Hyung Kon Kim, was decided by the Spaniard again with a strong final sprint: fifteen points in the third set in three innings.

Ruben Legazpi has been seeded too with two strong performances in the preliminary round. Haeng Jik lost his first set 15-13 against Kouji Funaki, but kept his mind cool and won the decisive sets 15-8 and 15-11. Takamasa Hagiwara defeated Ly The Vinh and Adnan Yüksel was the better finisher against Sung Yun Lee.
