Holland's glory and Agipi masters in opening round

SUWON - The European billiard fans who want to wake up in the night, will be treated at least on two matches with a history. Two collisions, one with Holland's glory, Dick Jaspers and Jean Paul de Bruijn and one with two masters from the famous Agipi team: Marco Zanetti and Jérémy Bury. They will be the main players at the gala opening of the World Cup, which will be played with 32 finalists.

Those two matches are not the only prominent duels which were drawn by Farouk Bari, the sportsdirector of the UMB, this evening. What to think about Torbjörn Blomdahl against Gung Dong Kang, Kyung-Roul Kim against Ruben Legazpi, Murat Naci Coklu against Ryuuji Umeda and Filipos Kasidokostas against Antonio Ortiz.
 
The World Cup in Suwon is making up for a promising weekend with seventeen Europeans, ten Koreans, three other Asians and two wildcards from Ecuador. Dani Sánchez is the leader in the World Cup ranking after two tournaments: one of these two he won, in Matosinhos, Portugal. His two compatriots, Antonio Ortiz and Ruben Legazpi, have already opened the door to a great global prestige tournament and hopefully a lot of brilliant firework in all these matches.

The schedule of the draw has placed Dick Jaspers and Kyung-Roul Kim in the upper half and Frédéric Caudron and Dani Sanchez are in the bottom half. In the top of the schedule are Martin Horn, Marco Zanetti, Jéréemy Bury, Sung-Won Choi, Torbjörn Blomdahl and Jef Philipoom as potential opponents of Jaspers and Kim. That seems a little stronger than the schedule with Luis Aveiga, Eddy Merckx, Filipos Kasidokostas, Lütfi Cenet and Ryuuji Umeda, the players Caudron and Sanchez can meet on their way to the semi finals.
