Klaus Bosel is watching when his opponent Ruben Legazpi plays.

Two German billiard players, in age at least twice so old as their youthful Spanish opponents, were sitting at the diner after their matches. The 53-year-old Klaus Bosel could be very proud after his victory against Ruben Legazpi, the number one on the Spanish ranking. The 41-year old Volker Marx seemed to be on his way to a sensational win against Javier Palazón, but eventually lost 2-1.

FC Elversberg had a minimal chance to qualify for the semi final against Caseta Nova. The Germans had to win 8-0, but that chance was obviously minimal. Jef Philipoom, spectator during the first two matches, said later: ,,We gave away our chances to win or to tei against Clichy on the first day in the match against Clichy. Then we had an opportunity. I could have beaten Eddy Merckx with a little more luck.''

Klaus Bosel and Volker Marx, both from Elversberg, could leave the arena of Agipi with a sense of pride nevertheless. Bosel, who's playing for thirty years in the bundesliga for this team, occasionaly can play matches around 1.500 and surprised against Ruben Legazpi too. He won the first set 15-7, then lost the second 15-5 and took an advantage of 14-1 in the third set. Legazpi came back to 14-10 in two innings, then Bosel made an end to the match.

Javier Palazón just found his rhythm after a lost set in fourteen innings (15-10). Then the Spaniard took the initiative and won the next two sets both 15-6.

Caseta Nova is the first in its group and plays tomorrow in the semi-final against FC Porto.
