Jean Reverchon took the win in the prestige match against Roux.

The two French teams in the semifinals of the European Cup kept themselves in balance after two matches (2-2). Jérémy Bury won after a difficult start his match against Richard Bitalis this morning (3-0), Jean Reverchon restored the balance at the other table with a victory over Jean Christoph Roux (3-2).

The decision which team will play in the final must fall in the duels that are being played now. Frédéric Caudron and Eddy Merckx face on billiard one, Marco Zanetti and Michael Nilsson on table two.

Jean Reverchon played as if he was fighting for his life in the prestige match against his compatriot Jean Christoph Roux. The most experienced player of the two, a former artistic champion, came badly out of the starting blocks with a 15-9 loss in twelve innings, but won the following sets 15-2 (8), 15-14 (11) and 15-12 (11). Roux forfeited the winning chances at decisive moments in the match, when his opponent attacked and the Agipi player showed a lack of form.

Jérémy Bury kept his team in the race by winning the match against Richard Bitalis, who couldn't impress and only scored 28 caroms in 33 innings. Bury had a weak start, in the second set he reached the finish in six innings, in the third, including a run of seven in ten innings.
