Dustin Jäschke (22) was the best winner in the first rounds of the German Masters

HERTEN - Young German billiard talent Dustin Jäschke has launched the German Masters tournament three cushion with an excellent match. The only 22-year-old player, living in Dinslaken, defeated Thorsten Frings in the first group stages 40-16 in 17 innings (average 2.353). That made Jäschke the best winner in the first round. Christian Rudolph made in his match against Uwe Kerls a fantastic run of 19.

The four groups of four all have finished the first rounds. Dustin Jäschke is the main contender in his group after his flying start. Thorsten Frings was seen as one of the favorites. The other two players in this Group are Johann Schirmbrand and Roger Liere. Schirmbrand won this clash 40-38 in 41 innings.

Jäschke, who plays for Bottrop in the league, took his first and only international success at the Junior European championship in Athens 2011. He finished third in that tournament, which was won by Glenn Hoffman from the Netherlands.

Group A in the German Masters is led by Martin Horn after one session. He defeated the wild card holder and sponsor Orhan Erogul with a comfortable lead at the finish, 40-19 in 21 innings with a run eleven. Dieter Grossjung took the two match points in his match against Murat Gokmen 40-28 in 27.

In the other two groups, Christian Rudolph and Klaus Bosel and Stefan Galla were the best winners. Galla was the better in his duel with the German champion Christos Christodoulidis 40-36 in 30 innings.

Christian Rudolph (Group C) won by a big margin against Uwe Kerls (40-21 in 29), in the same group was Klaus Bosel the best in the final sprint against Ramazan Durdu (40-36 in 29).

The first winners face each others in the groups in the second session.
