HERTEN - Martin Horn and Stefan Galla have reached the final rounds at the German Masters with the maximum six match points. The final tournament, played according to the knock out system to 50 points, has launched with eight finalists, who came from the four groups of four.
Martin Horn defeated in his group Orhan Erogul, Dieter Grossjung and Murat Gokman and ended up with 1.621 average. The German number one faces in the quarterfinals the youthful talent Justin Jäksche.
Stefan Galla closed the group stage as number one after victories over Christos Christodoulidis, Ronny Lindemann and his brother Markus Galla. The group winner, player of champion BCC Witten, recorded six match points and 1.463 average.
The other group winners were Johann Schirmbrand with five points and 1.100 and Klaus Bosel with four points and 1.266.
Christian Rudolph, who shined with a run of 19 in täe preliminaries, lost his leading position in his last match against Ramazan Durdu, that he lost 40-23 in 24 innings. Dustin Jaksche needed a win to continue in his last match, after the loss against Johann Schirmbrand. He defeated Roger Liere 40-29 in 43 innings.
Ronny Lindemann and Markus Galla were the two contenders for the second place in the group in which Stefan Galla was the number one. Lindemann advanced thanks to a draw against Christodoulidis in 35 innings. As a result, he ended up one point ahead of Markus Galla in the rank.
