Zapata and Palazón, the Spanish armada in PBA

SEOUL - This year's multiple winner David Martinez has been beaten by young Turk Burak Hashas, two other Spaniards, Juan David Zapata and Javier Palazón, play for the title in the last regular PBA tour before the final event. Jae-ho Cho, the strong Korean, and Turk Savas Bulut are the opponents in the quarter-finals. In turn, Hashas was eliminated by Zapata 3-1 (2,000/1,625) this Tuesday in the last round. Top seeds Dani Sánchez, Semih Sayginer and Filippos Kasidokostas were already defeated in earlier rounds.

For Sayginer, in the hunt for success, the end came in the round of 32, where he was eliminated by Javier Palazón in a mediocre match in terms of averages with minimal difference: 3-2 (1,209/1,256). Dani Sánchez also went down in that round after losing against Savas Bulut (3-2, 1,383/1,213, 11-8 in the deciding set for Bulut). Antonio Montes advanced to the top 16 by a win over Yusuke Mori. Lütfi Cenet was eliminated in that round. The players already out of the tournament in the round of 64 were Leppens, Yüksel, Coklu, Morales and Kasidokostas.

Juan David Zapata was at his best against Hashas at the last 16, winning 3-1 (2,040/1,625). Javier Palazón settled with another youngster in the PBA, Young-won Kim: 3-2. Two Vietnamese dropped out, Dinh Nai Ngo and Nguyen Quoc Nguyen and Antonio Montes lost to an outstanding Dong Koong Kang. The Korean shone at the end of the first set with 14 run and started the second set with 13: 27 points in a row.

In the quarter-finals, Juan David Zapata plays Sung-won Cho, Dong Koong Kang plays Savas Bulut, Jae-ho Cho plays Joo-sun Park and Javier Palazón plays Keon-hwi Cho.

The women's final goes to the end with Ga-young Kim looking for her sixth consecutive tournament victory. The Korean super lady in PBA has won 35 matches in a row now. In the semi-finals, she beat Min-ju Baek 3-1, Min-a Kim beat Ye-eun Kim 3-2. Japan's Sakai lost in the round by 16 as did Sruong Pheavy, who was eliminated by Mi-rae Lee 3-0.
