ISTANBUL - 22-year-old Turkish junior Denizcan Akkoca has set a fantastic record in his country. He became Turkish under-25 champion this Saturday by winning 40-1 in ten innings in the final with a run of 21 from the start. His opponent in the final was Selahattin Özkul, who only scored once in the 5th inning.Denizcan Akkoca, who lives in Ankara, is one of the main Turkish talents, who has now won two European titles in juniors, three world titles, 5 times Turkish under-21 and now under-25 champion.
His highest run so far was 17, finishing a match. At the Gülsen Degener billiard centre, Akkoca started in the final with 21, then made 6 in the second inning and eventually won 40-1 in 10 innings.
About his plans for next year, Akkoca says: ’’I hope to play a very good season with many wins and represent my country at the European Under-25 Championships in Denmark.‘’
Does he have plans to transfer to the PBA like previous Turkish talent Burak Hashas. ‘’I would like to, but haven't received an offer yet.‘’ The current world junior champion is 19-year-old Turk Seymen Özbas.
