THE 2026 BANCA DEL FUCINO WPA WOMEN’S 10-BALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP is the main event as the PREDATOR PRO BILLIARD SERIES sets out its stall in one of the world’s great cities – the capital of Italy, Rome. 64 players from 21 nations across the globe will be contesting a US$200,000 prize fund in the elegant surroundings of the ballroom at the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the central part of the city.
The World Championship event breaks off on Friday with the first round of matches and plays out until Thursday 6th August with the championship match. Given the strength of field, many of the players will be looking looking to add to their existing WPA World Championship tallies this week and further advance their respective legacies.
While the entry list reads like a who’s who of the women’s game, the standout name is defending champion, Chezka Centeno of the Philippines. Centeno narrowly defeated countrywoman Rubilen Amit in Bali last year to lift this title, and only last week carried off the WPA World 8-Ball Championship as she got the better of Kelly Fisher in the title match.
She said, “I feel very excited and relaxed and confident. Winning the World 8-Ball Championship was a big boost but I treat all games the same including 10-ball. Rome is an amazing and beautiful place and I managed to visit the Vatican but the Pope is on vacation!
This is such an amazing venue here and I think I’m at my peak and hopefully I’ll do my best this week.”
With mixed doubles tournaments becoming such an intrinsic part of the Pro Billiard Series, this time around sees the turn of women’s pairs with the Fujifilm Women’s Double Master Showdown. The tournament runs from 1 – 4 August and features 16 pairs and a hefty $75,000 prize fund. Given the sheer quality of players here in Rome this week, it would be foolhardy to try and pick a winner.
The final event of the week is the Predator Wheelchair Open. Running from 31 July to 3 August, the tournament features 16 players from ten different countries shooting for a whopping $10,000 first prize from a $25,000 total prize fund. The Wheelchair Open is a best-of-the best event offering the type of prize money that is generally absent from the wheelchair game.
