Varde BK 5th time champion in Denmark

VARDE - Denmark's strongest billiard team, Varde BC, became Danish champions for the fourth time in a row and the fifth time in total. That title was won last weekend with Eddy Merckx, Jean Paul de Bruijn, Dion Nelin, Allan Schröder and young Daniel Christiansen.

Varde clinched the title fight in the Elite Division/Søren Søgard league in two matches on Friday and one on Saturday. The champion will play for Denmark in the Coupe d'Europe in Porto from 25 to 30 June. The plan is for Eddy Merckx, Jean Paul de Bruijn, Dion Nelin and Allan Schröder to have a shot at the title in that format.

BK Varde was much stronger in the last matches than BC Ringsted, BK Randers and ABK 31. The winners gained the maximum match points and finished 1.487 on average ahead of Ringsted with 0.875, Randers with 0.993 and ABK with 1.015.
