Two Koreans play final in Asia: Kim-Cho

Myung Woo Cho, without any win in World's nation championship in Viersen, is in the final in Asia now against Jun Tae Kim.

YANGGU-GUN - The Koreans have decided the matches against the Vietnamese in their favor in the Asian three-cushion championship. Myung Woo Cho, the world champion, and Jun Tae Kim, the title holder, play the championship final in a good hour's time. The live broadcast can be seen on YouTube, Korea billiards, around 12:00 West European time.

Jun Tae Kim qualified for the final by a win over Quyet Chien Tran 50-27 in 25 innings. Myung Woo Cho won the semi-final against another Vietnamese, Thanh Tien Le.

The Korean/Vietnamese clash was still balanced before the quarter-finals. Four Koreans and four Vietnamese played the quarter-finals. Jun Tae Kim won Duc Minh Tran's match 50-37 in 26, Quyet Chien Tran beat Beom Yeol Lee 50-32 in 27, Thanh Tien Le was the better against Jung Han Heo 50-33 in 21 and Myung Woo Cho won the cracker against Phuong Vinh Bao 50-48 in 24. In that match, Bao led 44-24 in 16, when Cho making three high runs in a row: 11-5-7. The Korean took the lead 47-44 and won.

The semi-finals were decided by the two Koreans. Jun Tae Kim beat Quyet Chien Tran and Myung Woo Cho, who was still totally out of form at the World nations championship in Viersen, won over Thanh Tien Le.
