STOCKHOLM - Torbjörn Blomdahl captured the Swedish three-cushion title this weekend. That happened in Stockholm, where Blomdahl won the title back from Michael Nilsson and became Swedish champion for the 32nd time. Torbjörn won his first title in 1982. In the final, he beat David Pennör 40-26 in 16 innings (2,500/1,625).
In the semi-finals, Blomdahl took on Michael Nilsson in an enthralling match that was decided on one carom in favor of the eventual winner (40-39 in 24 innings). David Pennör won the other semi-final against Tai Tran (40-29 in 42). In the quarter-finals, Blomdahl beat Vu Bui Thanh 40-22 in 28, Michael Nilsson made it against Manuel Orellana 40-29 in 39, David Pennör beat Niclas Bergendorff 40-17 in 31 and Tai Tran won against Nalle Olsson 40-34 in 51.
