LOS ALCAZARES - The Madrid Nacional team secured the Spanish team title on Sunday after a 14-match competition. On the final day, the champions triumphed over Valencia with the maximum score 8-0. The team on the championship weekend showed up with Spanish Colombian Robinson Morales, Dutchman Jeffrey Jorissen and Spaniards Ricardo Garcia and Valentin Andaluz. Morales shone on Saturday against Palma with a great run of 21. Saturday's match in the 13th round was decisive in the title race. Palma led by 1 point over Madrid Nacional at the time, but the Madrilenians won the match 6-2 and climbed over Palma to the lead. That position was no longer in danger on Sunday when Madrid won 8-0 over Valencia. The matches in the final weekend were played at Los Alcazares, the Spanish federation's training centre.
Robinson Morales won on Saturday in the top match against Palma playing Jose Maria Mas 40-21 in 23 with a superb run of 21, Jeffrey Jorissen beat Carlos Crespo 40-19 in 26, Ricardo Garcia lost to Jordi Garriga 40-28 in 30 and Valentin Andaluz beat Raul Hernandez 40-30 in 35. On Sunday against Valencia saw the 8-0 win with victories for Morales in 21, Jorissen in 42, Garcia in 40 and Andaluz in 35 innings. Palma closed the league with a 4-4 draw against Mostoles.
