GANDIA - Spanish billiards player Sergio Jimenez is the winner of the first Grand Prix in Spain played in Gandia. He beat Carlos Crespo in the final match, the numbers three and four were Ruben Legazpi and Carlos Anguita. The national Open City of Gandia turned into a final between two players who showed a very good form. Tension ran high in that match between Sergio Jimenez and Carlos Crespo, eventually won 40-39 by Jimenez in 29 innings. As a result, Jimenez leads the first ranking with 180 points ahead of Crespo with 165, Legazpi, Anguita, Adrian Legazpi, Andaluz, Fernandez and Morales.
In the semi-finals, Sergio Jimenez won his match vs Carlos Anguita 40-31 in 29, Crespo beat Ruben Legazpi. Jimenez eliminated Murat Akbicak in 23 in the last sixteen, Joseba Escribano in 12 in the last eight.
