ALCAMO – The Nuova Accademia del Biliardo Club team won the Italian three cushion team championship. The tournament was held in Alcamo, Sicily, with a total of 14 teams. Berkay and Omer Karakurt, Salavatore Papa and Alfra Basile competed for the championsteam. The Palabiliardo team, with Glenn Hofman and Roland Forthomme, finished second.
These two teams remained on the Sicilian island for the final match. Nuova Accademia emerged victorious scoring5-3. Berkay Karakurt lost his match to Glenn Hofman 40-14 in 20 innings, Omer Karakurt and Roland Forthomme drew in 29 innings. Salvatore Papa defeated Emilio Sciacca (40-33 in 33 innings) and Alfra Basile was the better of Francesco Orlando 40-29.
Berkay Karakurt played an excellent semifinal match against Korean PBA player Jun Tae Kim, winning 30-25 in 15 innings. In that match, Omer Karakurt defeated Alessio D’Agata 30-11 in 18 innings. Glenn Hofman's team was superior in the other semifinal, where Hofman defeated Stabile 30-15 in 18 innings and Forthomme won against D’Agguanne 30-20 in 19 innings.
