CAÏRO - The Heliopolis team captured the team championship in Egypt. The title went for the first time to this team with the line-up Mahmoud Ayman, Riad Nady, Hesham Zaghlouo and Ahmet Bassiouny.
The winning team scored 15 points out of 18 with five wins and one loss. The top three consisted of Heliopolis, Sporting Club and Rivoli Club. The other teams in the league were Shooting Club, Zamalek Club, Maadi Club and Amateur Club.
Heliopolis is one of the oldest billiards clubs in Cairo. Matches were played to 40 points. Riad Nady received the MVP award of Most Valuable Player. Sameh Sidhom won the Egyptian Cup with the Smouha Club team.
The other clubs in the top three played with the following formations:
Rivoli with Hesham Saad, Hesham el Araby, Mohamed Mousa, Mohamed Sherif and Mostafa Fadl.
Sporting with Badr Tabac, Khaled Erfan, Mohamed Kamal and Sherif Fathy.
