PRAGUE - Team BC Vítkov–Sokol Zizkov is the new team champion in the Czech Republic. The last 14th round of the league with 8 teams was scheduled last weekend: nothing changed in the general classification. BC Vítkov–Sokol Zizkov, a team from Prague, won the last match against BC Kladno B 8-0 and finished one point ahead of second BC Kladno A and two points ahead of BC Ostrava. The decisive match for the title battle was played on the 5th of March when BC Vítkov–Sokol Zizkov played a home match against competition leader BC Ostrava.
Only a win was counted for the home team. Otherwise, 3rd place was booked for them. In a very exciting match home team beat BC Ostrava 6-2. BC Vítkov–Sokol Zizkov showed up all rounds with a line-up Martin Bohac, Adam Kozak, Adam Baca and Marcel Dirn. They followed the title from season 2019/2020.
Last year’s winner BC Kladno played with Radek Novak, Jan Ales, German’s Michael Puse and Markus Schönhoff. One weekend, also Dion Nelin was part of the team, in February. The Dane helped his own team to beat BC Vítkov–Sokol Zizkov 8-0 to maintain their chances for the title. He beat Martin Bohac 40-25 in 17 innings.
Third team BC Ostrava played with the line-up of Ivo Gazdos, Radovan Hajek, Pavel Domansky, Zdenek Galicek and Stepan Kohout. They played a team average over one.
