Jacob Haack Sörensen the better of Tayfun Tasdemir

ZUNDERT - The difference in the matches was not too big, but the win still went to the leader again. This Sunday, the Zundert team vainly chased Babbelz, ranked No 1 from the start of the league. Babbelz pulled off a devastating 0-8 win in the Zundert house with Savas Bulut, among others, as Frédéric Caudron's winning replacement. Babbelz's other pursuers did win: Team Eekhoorn 8-0 vs Aartsbouw and Cues&Darts 6-2 vs De Biljartacademie.

The Oosterhout leader thus remains untouchable with a total score of 24 match points and 1,430 average. Team Eekhoorn is in position 2 with 20 points and has a slightly higher average, 1.432. The camping boys did not lag behind in the score: Aartsbouw was beaten 8-0 thanks in part to a great win by Peter Ceulemans over Tom Persyn (40-18 in 22), after Ceulemans was also winner against Martin Horn in Germany this weekend.

Team Babbelz went to the maximum score, thanks to hard-fought wins by Savas Bulut against Sergio Jimenez (40-39 in 26), Davy van Havere against Sam van Etten (40-36 in 27), Jack Wijnen against Francis Forton (40-33 in 26) and Roland Uijtdewillegen in the marathon match against Lennart Schrauwen (40-34 in 47). Team Eekhoorn thus had its best winner in Peter Ceulemans, the other wins came from Nick Polychronopoulos against Brants (40-28 in 26), Frans van Kuyk against Dirk Weeremans (40-32 in 31) and Jerry Hermans against Wesley de Jaeger (40-20 in 32).

The third 8-0 victory in the 14th round fell to Carl Verhoeven's Biljartarena: SIS/Vervoort barely faced opposition from J&F Auto's. Jean van Erp was the best winner against Murat Gökmen 40-19 in 20 innings. Raimond Burgman, Raymund Swertz and Martien van der Spoel were in line with wins over Kay de Zwart, Paul Bruijstens and Herman van Daalen.

Therese Klompenhouwer, in a busy weekend, topped the scoring for Cues&Darts, which celebrated a 6-2 victory over De Biljartacademie with three Dutchmen and one Belgian. Therese defeated Belgian Broux 40-28 in 23, Glenn Hofman was just the better of Roland Forthomme in the final sprint (40-39 in 27) and Joey de Kok won vs Roy Zielemans 40-38 in 32. Three wins for the Dutch therefore in the Cues&Darts team, only Jef Philipoom, the only Belgian, lost his match to Dany Boutet 40-37 in 30.

Bousema/JBSCues could not cash in on the arrival of Tayfun Tasdemir in the home match against RCN Nieuwegein. The Turkish star player was beaten by Jacob Haack Sörensen, the guest player at Nieuwegein. The Dane won 40-29 in 25 innings. Two Dutch top players, Dave Christiani and Jeffrey Jorissen, met in a difficult match, which could only captivate briefly in the closing stages: Christiani won 40-34 in 35 innings. With Jean van Erp, Gökhan Salman was the best winner of the day in this round. The Turk won vs Barry van Beers 40-27 in 20. Frans van Schaik, who missed out on the Masters this year, had left his form at home and was hopeless against Henk Blauwblomme: 40-26 in 39.

The only draw of the day came from Sluiskil. Dallinga and Paperclips played a draw. Dick Jaspers won for Paperclip against Steven van Acker 40-32 in 27. Peter De Backer (against French top player Jérémy Bury, 40-24 in 21) and Joris van ‘t Zelfden (against Anno de Kleine, 40-25 in 29) kept the score balanced for the Zeeland team.

Gökhan Salman, best win for his team

Jean van Erp, the man in form at the Masters, led his team to 8-0 win
