OOSTERHOUT - The after-effects of the Masters have gradually faded away, what remains is a fantastic memory. The Dutch competition in the premier league is now ready for another day. The 14th round makes its appearance with the 12 teams in an unabated battle at the top, middle and bottom. The Kozoom league gets to see some top national and international players again, but is also missing Eddy Merckx, Frédéric Caudron and Jean Paul de Bruijn, for instance. Two of those three, Merckx and De Bruijn, are playing competition in Denmark. Therefore, Dallinga is weakened for the match against Paperclip and the home crowd will not get to see De Bruijn-Jaspers.
Premier league director Paul Brekelmans is on a world tour and has done the planning in advance. The Dutch themselves are with 26 players in this round, the foreigners with 22. Nick Polychronopoulos and Savas Bulut travel 2,800 kilometers by plane for one match. Therese Klompenhouwer, in three competitions this weekend, travels 1160 kilometres by car. The main players in the Masters, including the four players from the podium, will come into action for their teams. In the place of Caudron, Babbelz has the Turk Savas Bulut as its leader, who has just returned from a strong performance in the PBA, where he eliminated Dani Sánchez and the Vietnamese Nguyen, among others, but was himself played out of the tournament by Dong Koong Kang.
Dallinga plays with Steven van Acker as Dick Jaspers‘ opponent, Aartsbouw does it with Ronny Brants instead of Merckx as Nick Polychronopoulos’ opponent in the match against Team Eekhoorn.
At Bousema against RCN Nieuwegein, an attractive match is on the agenda: Tayfun Tasdemir against Jacob Haack-Sörensen, who is once again making his presence felt in the premier league. Joris van ‘t Zelfden, the Dutch junior talent, gets a fill-in at Dallinga and plays against Anno de Kleine. For Paperclip, Jérémy Bury will be in action in Sluiskil, where he had nice successes in the World Cups. The Frenchman faces Peter De Backer, who can always rise above himself a little ‘on his own court’.
Glenn Hofman against Roland Forthomme is a nice affiche in the match Cues&Darts-De Biljartacademie, where it will be very difficult for the Limburg squad to add their first victory of the season. Therese Klompenhouwer plays for Cues in a remarkably busy weekend: Saturday in Germany, Sunday in the Netherlands, Monday in Belgium. For the Dutch lady, a weekend of 1160 kilometers by car.
The ranking is after 13 matches:
- Babbelz 22 points, 1.445 average
- Team Eekhoorn 18, 1.431
