Wolfgang Rittman: the coast is clear in Hurghada.

HURGHADA - Wolfgang Rittman, vice president of UMB (world federation of billiards) has traveled already to Hurghada to see if the coast is clear for the billiard players who will play the World Cup next week. The German came to the same conclusion as Farouk Barki, the sports director. ,,I can assure everyone that there is no reason for concern.''

The vice president is in Hurghada to convince himself that the situation is safe. ,,The pictures which we can see on television and the diverse reports we can read in newspapers and on internet forums, draw a not very positive picture of the current situation in Egypt. In consideration of the upcoming World Cup the situation is moving for the sports of billiards in a special focal point’’, Rittman says.

,,I am already here in order to get myself a picture of the situation on the spot. After the examination of all important places, like the city, the promenade, the hotel, and the surrounding area, I can inform you for reassurance that everything is as always and that everything is unchanged’’, said Rittman in his report from Hurghada.

,,There are not any riots, there are not any political manifestations, the police is present as usual and the people are friendly as usual. The hotels are full with tourists who are enjoying their time as always in Egypt. Thus, don’t worry, come to enjoy the sun and sport in Hurghada, I will welcome you all.’’

The World Cup in Hurghada, the last tournament of the year, will start on Saturday with the preliminaries. The main event is from Thursday to Saturday next week.
