SEOUL - The final victory in the World 3 cushion Survival in Seoul will be decided in two semi-finals with four players on Sunday. The top two from each group will play the final for a $50,000 grand prize. The final field consists of four Europeans and four Asians. Dick Jaspers and Nikos Polychronopoulos play in one group against Van Ly Dao and Quyet Chien Tran, both from Vietnam. Tayfun Tasdemir and Marco Zanetti will meet Jun Tae Kim and Chi Yeon Cho in the other semi-final.
That outcome was the result of the quarter-finals played this Saturday. Dick Jaspers, Tayfun Tasdemir and Marco Zanetti, Van Ly Dao and Jun Tae Kim were the winners of the quarter-final groups. Tasdemir and Zanetti finished equal with the same score: 95. That was the highest number.
Dick Jaspers stayed slightly ahead of Greek Nikos Polychronopoulos with 88 points in the final stage: 88-84. Vietnamese Van Ly Dao surprised with 82 points and stayed ahead of Quyet Chien Tran with 78. Jun Tae Kim was the better of his compatriot Chi Yeon Kim with 80 points in the fourth groupwith 72.
Players eliminated included Torbjörn Blomdahl, Haeng Jik Kim, Martin Horn, Ruben Legazpi, Jung Han Heo and Sameh Sidhom.
