CAÏRO - In the multifunctional stadium in Cairo, the first ranking tournament was played for the Egyptian championship. Riad Nady was the winner in the final against the only 21-year old student Kyrollos Girgis from Alexandia. The final ended in 45-25, 28 innings. The championship is spread over four ranking events.
Sameh Sidhom, the national champion, missed this first tournament after a positiv COVID test. Riad Nady is the traditional number two in his country. As a result, Sameh Sidhom will play for Egypt with Youssef Ossama at the World Cup for countries in Viersen. Riad Nady is the reserve player.
