Nikos Polychronopoulos: highest run (15) and best match (3.333)

ATHENS - Two stars in the previous round are out of the tournament, the new favorites are Nikos Polychronopoulos and Filippos Kasidokostas. The Barrage Open tournament in Athens is getting ready for the quarterfinals with seven Greeks and one Turkish player, Murat Tüzül.

Nikos Polychronopoulos kicked off with an amazing win this afternoon in the eighth finals. He already signed up for the highest run (15) and now he notched up the best win is a great match against the young Turkish talent Birol Uymaz.

The Greek whirlwind, one of the fasted players at the top, set the pace with a 40 points win in 12 innings (3.333 average), his opponent should not be ashamed with 25 points (2.083).

The only Turkish player who survived the eighth finals was Murat Tüzül, who beat his fellow countryman Mehmet Goren 40-29 in 29.

Most surprising was the elimination of Adnan Yüksel: he was defeated 40-36 by Kostas Kokkoris.

The two stars of the previous could not confirm their strong performance. Spaniard Jose Maria Mas bowed his head for Vagellis Moulos (40-38 in 34), Nikos Trémoulis was down for the count in his match against of Dionisios Tsakantos (40-24 in 23).

Filippos Kasidokostas had a walk in the park in his match against Koray Kirman (40-12 in 17), Kostas Papakonstantinou defeated the strong Turk Can Capak 40-35 in 33.
