BERLIJN/BOTROP - The BC Weywiesen team has started the competition in the first Bundesliga in Germany with the maximum win from two matches. The team consisting of Torbjörn Blomdahl, Roland Forthomme, Thorsten Frings and Christian Rudolph is top after the double weekend with six match points after two away wins against BC Elfenbeim (6-2) and BC Nied (5-3).
On Saturday, Blomdahl won from Dustin Jäschke 50-47 in 27 innings, Roland Forthomme beat his compatriot Martin Spoormans 50-29 in 33 and Rudolph (series 12) beat John Tijssens 40-35 in 30. Only Thorsten Frings lost 40-30 to Stefan Galla in 24 innings. The next day, playing without Roland Forthomme (who won against Jean Paul de Bruijn in the Netherlands), Weywiesen beat BC Nied with a win for Blomdahl against Robinson Morales 50-37 in 27, Christian Rudolph beat Patrick Sofsky 40-16 in 33 and Jens Eggers played a draw against Helko Roth. Thorsten Frings lost 50-37 to José Maria Mas in 42 innings.
BC International (Horn, Poly, Karaca, Roestel) and Elversberg are in second place after these two days of play with four points (one win and one draw). BC International won over St Wendel (8-0) on Saturday and played a 4-4 draw with Elversberg on Sunday. Martin Horn defeated Jérôme Barbeillon 50-39 in 20, Nikos Polychronopoulos was the better of Radovan Hajek 50-29 in 25, Cengiz Karaca beat Lutz Schwab 40-34 in 47 and Norbert Roestel won from Daniel Schwerdtfeger 40-39 in 56. Sunday in Elversberg, the two winners were Nikos Polychronopoulos, 50-48 in 35 against Carlos Crespo and Cengiz Karaka 40-26 in 20 against Klaus-Bernhard Bösel. Martin Horn lost 50-22 in 22 innings to Murat Naci Çok (Coklu shone in this match with runs of 16 and 17) and Roestel lost 28-40 in 32 to Lukas Stamm.
While Elversberg won 6-2 in a home match against Magdeburg on Saturday. Carlos Crespo was the only one to lose, Dion Nelin winning that match for Magdeburg 50-33 in 29.
After Saturday's defeat, Magdeburg came back on Sunday with an 8-0 away win over St Wendel. Karakurt beat Barbeillon 50-27, Nelin won from Hájek 50-36 in 31, Schönhoff from Schwab 40-21 in 26. Magdeburg is in 4th place with 3 points along with Elfenberg and BCC Witten.
Witten won 6-2 over BC Pied on Saturday and lost 2-6 to Elfenberg the next day. On the first day, Ronny Lindemann won from Robinson Morales 50-24 in 30, Michael Nilsson beat José Maria Mas 50-29 in 33.
BC Nied and St Wendel are in the last two places, with two defeats each.
In the final, Tayfun Taşdemir won from Berkay Karakurt with a score of 40-38 in 17 innings and an average of 2.352 and made his mark on the championship.
