In Group A Morangis shows up in a home match against Kozoom on Thursday 16 March starting 17.30 with among others Dick Jaspers, Nikos Polychronopoulos and Jean Reverchon. The Soissons team meets Saint Quentin on Friday (17 March) starting 16.00 including the encounters Eddy Merckx-Robinson Morales and Semih Sayginer-Johan Loncelle. Sayginer is guest of honor to give an exhibition for the billiard fans at the end of the evening.
Morangis is mathematically certain to finish in last place in the group, what means relegation to the second division. The three other teams are still in the running for qualification and a place in the French final. Only the first two of each group qualify for the title race.
