AMSTERDAM - The high run Frans van Schaik made was impressive, but nevertheless he didn't reach the next round in the ranking tournament in Amsterdam. In his match against Erik Vijverberg he made a run of thirteen, won 50-42 in 47 innings, but lost his chances in the next match against Dave Van Geel.
Martien van der Spoel and Dave van Geel are seeded after two matches in group G, Barry Beers and Wim van den Berg finished one and two in group H of the preliminaries. Barry van Beers won both matches, his first against Herman van Dalen in 47 innings, then in 39 innings against Huub Wilkowski.
Wim van de Berg beat Wilkowski but lost to Herman van Daalen. He reached the best sixteen with a better average than Herman van Daalen.
Dave van Geel did the same in Group G, where he left Frans van Schaik behind. Van Geel collected two match points and 1.205, Frans van Schaik also two match points and 0.939.
Tomorrow is the day Dick Jaspers, Glenn Hofman, Jean Paul de Bruijn, Therese Klompenhouwer and Jean van Erp enter the tournament.
