DEN HAAG/OOSTERHOUT - The twelve teams in the premier three-cushion league in Holland, the DKM Tools league, are facing the final phase of the regular competition with equal weapons. This Saturday and Sunday two catch-up matches were played, next week only the last catch-up match between SIS Schoonmaak and Bousema Lochem will follow. After that, a full schedule will follow on Sunday, bringing the twelve teams to 19 matches with three games to play before the play-offs with the best three.
J&F Auto's Den Haag and Team Eekhoorn both won a catch-up game against 't Hartje van Oosterhout 6-2 this weekend. The Hague players did that in a home match, in which Jeffrey Jorissen played the best match for the home team and Frank Martens was the star of the day with a game in 22 innings and a highest run of 17.
The Oosterhout team played with Ismail Yasin as their captain, who came up short against Jorissen 40-18 in 22. Barry van Beers won against Davy van Havere 40-33 in 25, Therese Klompenhouwer beat Harrie van de Ven 40-18 in 33 and Frank Martens played a great match against Herman van Daalen, which he won 40-23 in 22.
On Sunday, 't Hartje was in action again, this time in a derby, at home, against Team Eekhoorn. Jerry Hermans' camping team won three of four matches, one of them with the smallest possible margin: Kurt Ceulemans beat Davy van Havere 40-39 in 25 (run 11 by Van Havere). Peter Ceulemans won against Yasin 40-22 in 26, Glenn Hofman was the only winner for 't Hartje. The Korean/Hague player beat Frans van Kuyk 40-31 in 27 innings. Jerry Hermans was one of the match winners, beating Harrie van de Ven 40-34 in 27.
