JEJU ISLAND - Spaniard Juan David Zapata, who has been crowned PBA's grand champion before, has again qualified for the final match at the final gala. In the days before the final, Zapata first beat his compatriot David Martinez 3-1 in the big Spanish clash and 3-0 Semih Sayginer on Friday in a one way encounter in the semi-finals.
That match was dominated by the superbly playing Zapata, who won the sets 15-5, 15-9 and 15-13. The Spaniard's average was 2.647, for Sayginer 1.800.
The other semi-final (22.00 Korean time, 14.00 in Western Europe and Belgium) is between Eddy Leppens and Korean Jae-ho Cho. The Belgian has been showing fantastic form for a couple of rounds, but first needs to get past Jae-ho Cho to reach the final, in which Juan David Zapata is his opponent in the battle for the big Korean money.
For the ladies, Bo-mi Kim has already qualified for the final by a 4-3 win over Mi-rae Lee. The other semi-final today will be between Ji-eun Han and Ga-young Kim.
