Charlotte Sörensen, the Danish favorite and reigning world champion

AARHUS - The final day at the European Women's three cushion Championship will turn out as a battle between four players from four countries with two top favorites and two outsiders. Netherlands' Therese Klompenhouwer and Denmark's Charlotte Sörensen made the most impression on their way to the finals. Jaimie Buelens from Belgium and Guzin Mujde Karakasli from Turkey are outsiders based on the averages.

Klompenhouwer will play Karakasli in the semi-finals Saturday morning at 10.30, Sörensen in the next match at 13.00 against Buelens.

The quarter-finals showed two smooth matches and two marathons. Therese Klompenhouwer won vs another Dutch, Daisy Werdekker, 30-16 in 25, while Charlotte Sörensen was a way too strong for Karina Jetten 30-14 in 26. The third Dutch, Monique van Exter, was eliminated in the last game after many misses in the closing stages by Jaimie Buelens, who eventually made the final carom at 30-26 in 60 innings (!). Karakasli and Träm took just fewer innings over their match: 30-23 in 54.
