ANKARA - The Turkish championships three cushion billiards for women and youth were held in the new billiard arena in Gölbaşı this week. Arzü Gok won the tournament and the ladies' title. She won both the final tournament ahead of Güzin Mujde Karakasli and the overall ranking ahead of Gülsen Degener. In the juniors, 16-year-old Burak Hashas, a fast-rising young talent, won the final tournament and the overall title.
Arzu Gök won the final against Güzin Müjde Karakaşlı 30-19 in 36 innings to become the overall winner. In the semi-final the new Turkish champion defeated another top player, Gülşen Degener 30-27 in 67 innings.
Burak Hashas and Hakan Görgüç competed in the final of the junior category. Burak Hashas became champion by winning 30-26 in 24 innings. Dogukan Chorbaci and Seymen Ozbas, who are playing the European Championships under 25 in Spain this weekend, were defeated by the finalists in the semi-finals. Seymen Özbaş lost to Hakan Görgüç 30-29 in 29, Doğukan Chorbaci lost to Burak Haşhas 30-29 in 24.
