Dani Sánchez showed his brilliant skills, his team FC Porto missed the final

ISTANBUL - The Turkish team and defending champion Bahcelievler plays again the final match at the European Cup for club teams. The two big guns in the foursome of FC Porto, Dani Sánchez and Torbjörn Blomdahl, gave their all to disturb the hegemony, but victories over Tayfun Tasdemir and Lütfi Cenet were not enough for the place in the final. On the other two tables, the Turks Murat Naci Coklu and Adnan Yüksel won their matches, what made that the score was balanced (4-4). The difference in caroms was therefore decisive. Bahcelievler had a fifteen caroms plus in the final count.

Torbjörn Blomdahl and Dani Sánchez, who both performed on high level, watched together the showdown at the end of the session in the match between Adnan Yüksel and Rui Costa. The two top players were superior in the matches against Tasdemir and Cenet. The Swede attacked in the first innings including a 9-run against Tasdemir. And when his opponent had a time violation, Blomdahl could ran out to 22-8, later expanded to 30-17 and finally 40-26 in 21 (1.818/1.1182).

Dani Sánchez also had a blistering start (14-0). Cenet came back with a run of nine, but on his way to a comfortable win, the Spaniard showed some really attractive points (23-12, 33-23 and 40-35 in 20, averages 2.000/1.750).

The Turkish hope was turned towards the other two tables, on which Murat Naci Coklu powered his way to victor against Manuel Santos Oliveira, 40-14 in 26 (1.538/0.538) and already took a 26 caroms lead for Bahcelievler.

Adnan Yüksel decided the match in his fight with Rui Costa, which went on equal to 30 equal. The Turkish number four escaped with 8 at the end and won 40-32 in 26.

The other semifinal is between Agipi and BC Deurne.
