Jerry Hermans, best match on the 5th day of the Dutch league

The two leading teams in the Kozoom league, SIS Schoonmaak and STZ Zundert, showed their vulnerability in the fifth round of play. Carl Verhoeven's team was trounced by J&F Auto's 2-6 in their own venue, Topbiljart Zundert lost the away match against Bousema also 6-2. Team Eekhoorn took advantage of those missteps and, after the home win against Dallinga (6-2), is number one in the Dutch league with the same match points, but with a better match average. The Oosterhout team is leading with SIS Schoonmaak and Zundert, two match points ahead of four teams led by Cues&Darts. At the bottom are three teams in the basement of the premier league: Dallinga, DKM Tools and Team Nachtwacht, all three with just one match point out of five games.

SIS Schoonmaak's beating was most notable, as it was at home against the Hague-based J&F Auto's. Kay de Zwart and Herman van Daalen were the players who ensured a 4-0 lead at the break and Joey de Kok was able to increase the score to 6-2. Only Raymond Swertz was winner for SIS against Therese Klompenhouwer 40-31 in 29. Kay de Zwart was the best winner of the day against Jean van Erp 40-31 in 22. Herman van Daalen surprised German debutant Tom Löwe 40-38 in 44 innings. It was the first loss for SIS at home in a long time.

Topbiljart Zundert could not benefit from this slip, as it also lost to Bousema/JBScues. Rik van Beers was the man in form for Zundert (40-25 against Stefan Galla in 19. Jeffrey Jorissen, who beat Sam van Etten, the World Cup stuntman, 40-21 in 21 and Johan Loncelle (win against Francis Forton 40-29 in 20) were successful for Bousema. Team leader Martin Horn, finalist in the World Cup against Dick Jaspers, beat his compatriot Thorsten Frings by a 1 carom margin: 49-39 in 31.

Team Eekhoorn took the full win at home against Dallinga. Two World Cup stars faced each other: Nikos Polychronopoulos beat Jean Paul de Bruijn 40-31 in 31. Peter Ceulemans and Jerry Hermans pulled out full wins against Steven van Acker and Berry Dallinga in 30 and 17 innings. For Dallinga, only Peter De Backer won his match over Frans van Kuyk 40-19 in 24. Team Eekhoorn rises to the top of the rankings, Dallinga drops to a plight: together with DKM Tools and Team Nachtwacht in last place with 1 point out of five matches.

Cues&Darts lost a precious point at home against DKM Tools, despite wins by Robinson Morales and Ruben Legazpi against Dion Nelin and Davy van Havere. DKM Tool gained its first match point thanks to Ronny Lindemann, who beat Burak Hashas 40-33 in 28 and Jack Wijnen with a win over Volkan Cetin: 40-38 in 39.

Burgmans Biljarts is a strong mid-table player after the 4-4 against Aartsbouw Sprundel with Ad Broeders against Johan Roijers the best man for Sprundel: 40-15 in 26. Dekker/AP kept Team Nachtwacht in the lower echelons with a 6-2 win. Berkay Karakurt was the only winner for Nachtwacht by a win over Dave Christiani 40-35 in 24. Gerwin Valentijn was a strong winner against Harrie van de Ven 40-13 in 18.
