Thrilling matches in qualification Suwon

SUWON - The group format of the World Cup in Suwon, which will be played from August 30 to September 4, has been announced today. There are 92 players on the list for the tournament, twelve spots are still open and reserved for Korean players. Ten Koreans are on the reserve list for the time being.

The final qualifying round will be a fascinating battle for a place in the main tournament with 32 players. For instance, Jean Paul de Bruijn plays against Eddy Leppens, two teammates in the Dutch league, Vu Anh Duong meets Javier Palazón, the two Turkish Murat Naci Coklu and Savas Bulut face each other, Glenn Hoffman plays against the strong Korean Dong Gung Kang, who defeated Dick Jaspers in Porto two years ago 3-0.

Roland Forthomme is in a group with Jae Guen Kim, Ruben Legazpi meets Tatsuo Arai, Haeng Jik Kim is linked to the Japanese Kouji Funaki, Sameh Sidhom playes against another young player, Pierre Soumagne from France. Adnan Yüksel starts the tournament against his fellow countryman Ahmet Alp and the Spanish champion Antonio Torrent Ortiz meets the popular Frenchman Joel Switala. All these players will meet in their group of three also an opponent who comes from the previous qualifying round. Of the three players in the group, only the winner goes to the main tournament.

On the first qualification day (August 30) only Korean playerss will come to the tables, on the second day they are joined by Japanese, Vietnamese and the Danish Allan Jensen.

For the main tournament, the top twelve players are automatically seeded, together with eight wild cards: Marco Zanetti, Lütfi Cenet Javier Teran, Luis Aveiga, Jae Ho Cho, Durk Hee Hwang, Chung-Bok Lee and Ryuuji Umeda.
