BRANDENBURG AN DER HAVEL - The new European champion IN three-cushion and Marco Zanetti's successor will be known today (Sunday). Frédéric Caudron, Jean Paul de Bruijn and Torbjörn Blomdahl start their mission in one cushion and the Frenchman Matthieu Franck and the Turk Berkay Karakurt are playing for the junior three-cushion title.

The French clash between Gwendal Marechal and Matthieu Franck was one of the semifinals in three cushion under 21 and a highlight. Franck was superior and won 30-11 in 23 innings. Berkay Karakurt, who played the best average in the preliminaries (1.339) had some trouble with Joao Ferreira in the other semifinal: 30-28 in 36.
The final Matthieu Franck-Berkay Karakurt is at 14.30.
The semifinals in free game under 17 are between Pierre Martory and Michael Range on one table and Simon Blondeel and Bryan Eelen on the other. The games will be played at 15.00. The final is at 18.00.
The final in the championship for club teams under 19 is between BC Osselien and DBC Bochum. The Dutch teams Horna and Amorti play for a place on the podium. The games are at 12.00.
Tonight at 21.00 the free game individually under 21 starts including Sam van Etten, Simon and Lukas Blondeel, Stef van Hees and Ferry Jong.
