The last qualification round is the group of death

LOMMEL - Three of the four players, who will play tonight (Frédéric Caudron, Jef Philipoom and Ronny Brants) have a quite history behind them in the Superprestige, the fourth is an upcoming top player, emerging from a glorious family: Peter Ceulemans.

We can speak of the group of death tonight. Frédéric Caudron starts at 18.00 against Peter Ceulemans, Jef Philipoom against Ronny Brants.

Frédéric Caudron is of course the favorite to win the group, but nothing is certain. The young Ceulemans, Jef Philipoom and Ronny Brants are one by one capable to duel for the top places.

The Superprestige has yielded six quarter finalist so far, of whom Eddy Merckx was the best. The Belgian champion won his group (B) with six match points, an average of 1.818 and a highest run of fifteen.

Eddy Leppens seeded himself as second with six match points, an average of 1.791 and a run of eleven. The order of the other four is: Roland Forthomme (1.611), Frederic Mottet (1.478), Davy van Havere (1.250) and Steven Van Acker (1.182).
