ANDERNOS/OISSEL - On the second day of the French team competitions in the classic games, matches were played in Andernos and Oissel in the two leagues last weekend. In Group A, Douarnenez Valdys started the competition well with two wins over Epinal (6-0) and Andernos (4-2). Andernos in turn won over Epinal 4-2.
Raymund Swertz shone in 47/2 with two wins: 250 points in 4 innings with runs of 242 and 243. In 71/2, Nicolas Gerassimopoulos won his two 200-point games in 16 and 4 innings (200-178 against Louis Edelin at an 0-131 deficit). Grégory Le Deventec triumphed in one cushion with 120 points in 18 and 5, run of 82.
In Group B, Oissel played against Voisins-le-Bretonneux and Chartres, who were playing for the first time this season. The local players failed to take the maximum points. Chartres was the winner 6-0 against Voisins and 4-2 against Oissel.
In balkline 47/2, Willy Gérimont won his two games of 250 points in 4 and 6 innings. In 71/2, Xavier Grétillat took his two 200 points in 7 innings (series 143). In one cushion, Jean Paul de Bruijn won his two 120-point games in 7 and 6 innings (series 84).
Day 3 will be played on 27 and 28 January in Douai/Carvin and Ronchin, with teams from Douarnenez-Valdys, Epinal, Voisins-le Bretonneux and Chartres. Andernos and Oissel will be absent. Frédéric Caudron is expected to play for Douai/Carvin.
