Niels Feijen won the world 9-ball championships in front of a record audience via the live stream supplied by Kozoom and broadcast free, courtesy of the Qatari Billiards & Snooker Federation.
The Dutchman outfought Austria's Albin Ouschan, another European he is used to seeing more frequently on the Eurotour, to take the title which adds to his European 9-ball title he won back in April.
With a record number of registrations to watch the streaming it was always going to be a tough job. Kozoom CEO Xavier Carrer said afterwards "It was a challenge to supply, and above all keep the quality that we are used to providing. We can never know how the internet will fair and every location has its own difficulties, hats off though to the QBSF for a great partnership and we look forward to teaming up again in the future".
There were 16 403, registrations from a staggering 133 countries "but we were ready, said the CEO, we can deploy a server very quickly almost anywhere in the world if the traffic exceeds our load but we had no problems with the stream whatsoever" glowed a very happy man.
To excite the stream fans even more was a treat to slow motion and replays courtesy of Alkass TV station. Kozoom and Alkass shared camera views and feeds to give the fans an extra treat and made for an even more remarkable show. Some replays are already available on the qbsf web site with more to follow.
Kozooms next pool production will be the Youth European championships followed by the Seniors European championships & finishing with the men's and women's Eurotours, all in the month of August. Check out www.kozoom.com and join us in pool crazy August.
