Cambodian billiard star Sruong Pheavy has won in her country the 3-Cushion event at the Southeast Asian Games, organized under the IOC banner. The LPBA player won the final against Vietnam's Hoang Yen Nhi Nguyen 25-20. Therefore, she helped Cambodia gain a bigger lead in the country ranking at the Games. Cambodia leads with 37 gold medals ahead of Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia in these SEA games.
The Southeast Asian Games consist of a total of 46 sports disciplines, including major sports like basketball, swimming, cycling, tennis and volleyball. Sruong Pheavy played for Cambodia in the women's three-cushion discipline.
The participation of Sruong Pheavy, who is one of the stars in the Korean professional billiard organization, winner of the LPBA Final, is highly curious. The international rules of the UMB (World Carom billiards federation) are that players from the Korean professional association are not allowed to compete in tournaments recognized by the IOC. So the question is: why is there a double standard at the UMB when it comes to penalties and suspensions?
