The 3CC Survival in Brabant Uden from Monday to Saturday

UDEN - The 3CC Survival at SIS in Uden, Netherlands, is two days on the road after tonight with a total of 98 billiards players competing for prize money in two groups of some 9,000 euros. Title holder Jean van Erp takes to the match tables for the first time at the SIS Billiards Experience centre on Wednesday. All matches, played on two tables, will be broadcast live on Kozoom TV from tomorrow, Wednesday. Best-known players apart from Jean van Erp include Barry van Beers, Huuw Wilkowski, Frans van Schaik and Sam van Etten.

Matches in the 3CC system, with four players at the table at the same time, will start in the morning hours at 11.00 am, with the final round starting at 9.00 pm. The starting time also applies to the final day on Saturday: then the semi-finals and finals will be played.

On the first two days, Frank van Rooij, Frank de Ruijter, Harry Aarts, Willie Minkels, Ed van den Berg, Ron Pijper and Frans Bambacht were players who won the 3CC groups with over 100 points. Frank van Rooij was the highest with 123. Other winners included Rui Texeira, Stefan Osnabrug and Cees van Eindhoven. The losers go to second chance matches.

Brabant organizer Harry Mathijssen (Biljart Evenementen Nederland) failed to qualify for the next sessions in his first appearance. ''He fought like a lion,'' assured Carl Verhoeven of SIS, but, despite Torbjörn Blomdahl's critical look at the poster in the hall, he was unable to save himself from elimination.
