BOTTROP - Three Dutch ladies, one Danish, one Belgian, one Spanish, one Czech and one Turkish play the quarter-finals at the Predator Grand Prix in Bottrop tomorrow, Sunday. The shuffling with 27 ladies was completed on Saturday with the final qualifications. Seven group winners were awarded and one best number two: Turkey's Gülsen Degener.

Therese Klompenhouwer, Karina Jetten and Monique van Exter will play for the Netherlands in the final rounds with Jaimie Buelens, Estela Cardoso, Charlotte Sörensen and Irena Michalkova. The match between Klompenhouwer and Degener, two ladies who have been competing in international tournaments for years, stood out the most. The world champion Therese Klompenhouwer remained unbeaten with three wins, although France's Mélanie Hallier was a tough opponent in the last session, chasing down to 13-12. It still ended up 25-14 in 30, because the Dutch had a much better final sprint. Together with Klompenhouwer, also Charlotte Sörensen, Irena Michalkova and Jaimie Buelens finished with six match points and Karina Jetten won her two matches in the three-player group. Jetten also won her match against Degener (25-22 in 33), the Turkish player coming out with the best average at number two.

Therese Klompenhouwer won in Group A ahead of Daisy Werdekker, Charlotte Sörensen in Group B ahead of Miriam Pruim, who lost the mutual duel for placement 25-15 in 33. In Group C, first place was for Irena Michalkova ahead of Gloria Abbernath. Group D ended in a win for Monique van Exter, although the Dutch woman had to surrender her last game against Christine Shuh 25-21 in 47. Estela Cardoso was winner in Group E with the same match points as Pauline Beersema. Jaimie Buelens kept Turkish Güzin Mujde Karakasli out of the top eight in Group F with six match points. Two Turks battled it out for the best second position: Degener with 0.671 was just better than Karakasli with 0.650.
