Sayginer-Zapata topmatch in PBA

GYEONGJU - The final rounds at the PBA event in Gyeongju, the first professional tournament in South Korea this season, continue with Semih Sayginer, Juan David Zapata and Javier Palazón as European stars. The match between Sayginer and Zapata is the top affair for the round featuring the top eight. The Spaniard and the Turk showed top form in their last matches among the best 16.

Semih Sayginer staged a true exhibition after losing the first set 15-2 in two innings against Korean Sang Pil Eom. Semih won the next three sets 15-1, 15-10 and 15-3 and finished with 2,765. Juan David Zapata did not do much less in his match against Hyuk min Kwon with 3-1 and 2.269 on average. Javier Palazón had already qualified earlier and will play Sang dae Lee in the next round for a place in the quarter-finals.

The women's final is between Ga-young Kim and Min-a Kim. The two Koreans won from Bo-mi Kim 3-1 and Su-jung Oh 3-2 with modest averages: 0.952 and 0.980.
