Peter de Backer needs a strong endrush after his los against Forthomme.

LOMMEL - Roland Forthomme is the first of his group who has qualified for the eight finals of the Superprestige. On the first day of the tournament the 40-year old Belgian won his matches against Wesley de Jaeger and Peter de Backer. Forthomme is the only undefeated player after two rounds. The other three players will duel in the final round tonight for the second place in the next round.

Roland Forthomme, who won the last two editions of the Superprestige, started up as the very best of the four players in his group. He  defeated Wesley de Jaeger 40-20 in 28 innings and broke the defense of Peter de Backer after a bad start in his second match. Forthomme had a breeze at the end, he won 40-11 in 24 innings. De Backer won his first match of the evening against Mottet.

But after the win of Frédéric Mottet against Wesley de Jaeger, the former European junior champion can play himself in the next round, but he has to beat Forthomme in the last match. Mottet averaged 1.264 after two matches, De Backer 1.085. Wesley Jaeger, who meets De Backer in the last session, only has a small chance to get up to the eigth finals. He needs a win and a good average.
