VEGHEL - The final field for the World Cup in Veghel (23-29 October) was published today with the 149 players, the players for the preliminary rounds and the main tournament. Still there is a long list of 98 rerserve players. The Dutch in the only World Cup in their own country are with 24: Dick Jaspers is seeded as the world champion, Jeffrey Jorissen and Jean Paul de Bruijn received a wildcard and Barry van Beers is among the top-50 players and was allowed to enter automatically.
In addition, the world federation admitted 20 players for Holland in order of entry, including Dave Christiani, Jean van Erp, Therese Klompenhouwer, Sam van Etten and Raymund Swertz.
The top-14 with Jaspers, Sánchez and Zanetti as top three players are present to battle it out in this penultimate 2022 World Cup where Harry Mathijssen and his BEN organizers are already looking forward to a huge interest from spectators in the authentic arena of Noordkade in Veghel. Harry Mathijssen assures: ''We are super satisfied with the preparations.''
Well-known world players who have entered outside the top-14 include Sung-won Choi, Ruben Legazpi, Myung Woo Cho, Jun Tae Kim, Dion Nelin, Choong Bok Lee, Robinson Morales, Michael Nilsson, Lütfi Cenet, Duc Anh Chien Nguyen, Jose Juan Garcia.
