LIER - The Mister 100 team, named after the greatest champion of all time, has won the Belgian title for teams with 35 points out of 22 matches. The lead over Den Eik, the number two, is four points at the end of the competition. Mister 100’s leading player Peter Ceulemans was the big earner for his team with 32 match points out of 22 games ahead of Barry van Beers with 31 out of 21 and Frédéric Mottet with 30 out of 20. Eddy Merckx recorded the best general average with 1. 771 in 16 games ahead of Frans van Kuyk with 1.605 in 19, Peter Ceulemans 1.552 in 22, Roland Forthomme 1.542 in 21 and Barry van Beers 1.539 in 21. The best run was made by Frans van Kuyk with 21 ahead of Jean van Erp with 20.
Mister 100, for the first time in the team's history, is the very deserved champion in Belgium given the team performance over 22 matches. Peter Ceulemans scored 32 points, Jerry Hermans 27, Bart Ceulemans 24 in 16, Kurt Ceulemans 22 in 22 and Marco Janssen 10 in 6.
Mister 100, Den Eik, Herstalien, Biljart Express and Op de Meir divided the top-five places. Mister 100 2 and Biljartpalace were relegated from the top division with 15 and 10 points. Promotie Team still finished just above that mark with one point ahead of Mister 100 2. The team DBC De Leug 2 (with Jeffrey Jorissen and Therese Klompenhouwer) will take the place of the first team, another team of DBC De Leug will also play in the highest class. De Ploeg's team (Dustin Jäschke, Joey de Kok) is the other team to be promoted.
On the last day of competition, Herstalien won against the champion Mister 100 6-2, Roland Forthomme won in the best game of this 22nd round against Peter Ceulemans 40-32 in 18. Another great game came from Eddy Merckx, who beat Tom Löwe 40-18 in 19.
Den Eik won the last match against De Witte Molen 6-2, Brugse won 6-2 in the away match against Op de Meir, Biljart Express beat Biljartpalace 6-2 and Kortrijk played a draw against Mister 100 2. De Leug closed the competition in this formation (with Wesley de Jaeger) against Promotie Team and won 6-2. Jean Paul de Bruijn and Pierre Soumagne played a draw in 39 innings.
