GAYONG - The Green Force team with its leading player Jae-ho Cho, Minh Cam Ma and Antonio Montes, is topping the ranking in the PBA team league after six games. Javier Palazón from the team Huons (Legend) is the player who won the most matches in the first part with nine teams, which continues this week and will face the next competition part in 10 days. The Green Force team won late Tuesday night against Phoenix 4-1 and has eight match points out of five games. The matches are following tomorrow, Wednesday.
The PBA team league, officially the Welcome Savings Bank Team League, is played at the Kintex Stadium in Goyang. The team league was shocked by an incident on Monday night. Vietnamese player Anh Vu Duong from team SY Bazzar, became unwell during the match and was victim of a brain stroke. He was rushed to hospital where he still remains amid his family. Dani Sánchez, Duong's team leader, saw that Duong was showing signs of unconsciousness and immediately warned people around in the playing room.
Anh Vu Duong, a player also known from the World Cups, had won his match against Semih Sayginer 11-1 just before the incident. According to a PBA press release, Duong is now able to speak but needs special care for the next days.
The reigning champion in the team league, the Blue One Angels team, started the league with three wins, but fell behind due to three consecutive losses. Leaders Green Force (eight points out of five games) include Jae-ho Cho, Minh Cam Ma, Seong-ukOh, Myun-won Kim, Antonio Montes,Min-a-Kim and Bo-mi Kim.
For now, the main chasers are Legend (Javier Palazón, Semih Sayginer, Bong-chul Kim, Se-yeon Kim) with 8 out of 6, Winners (Choong Bok Lee, Lütfi Cenet, Duc Anh Nguyen, Mi-rae Lee) with 6 out of 5, Hana Pay (Jung-ju Shin, Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Murat Naci Coklu, Ga-young Kim) with 6 out of 6 and Angels (Sang-pil Eom, David Zapata, Sruong Pheavy) also with 6 out of 6.
