VEGHEL - The World Cup has cast its shadow ahead. Many players, both Dutch and foreign, will travel on tomorrow, Sunday, to the team they play with in the Dutch premier league, the Kozoom league. More than 20 players, 23 to be precise, out of a total of 48 return from the World Cup that was especially with ups and downs for the Dutch. Dick Jaspers, who plays for Paperclip this Sunday, was the most successful, Glenn Hofman and Jeffrey Jorissen had to go home after three matches on the first day in the main tournament. Glenn Hofman plays on Sunday Eddy Merckx, the Belgian number one who, against his habit, was not really successful either. Jeffrey Jorissen plays Frédéric Mottet.

The Dutch team league, entering the sixth round, is a good opportunity for some of those players for revenge. Anyway, the top match on Sunday is the meeting between Team Eekhoorn and Team Babbelz, which will both show up in the camping arena in a strong line-up. Nick Polychronopoulos meets Frédéric Caudron on centercourt, Peter Ceulemans faces Berkay Karakurt, four players who can look back on a strong World Cup. Frédéric Caudron and Peter Ceulemans are even on the final podium after the finals on Saturday.

Cues&Darts fielded four players who played in the World Cup for the match against Aartsbouw: Glenn Hofman, Ruben Legazpi, Pierre Soumagne and Therese Klompenhouwer. Playing for the opponent are Eddy Merckx (against Glenn Hofman) and Turgay Orak.

Team Babbelz leads after five rounds with 8 match points ahead of Cues&Darts, Team Eekhoorn and STZ Zundert with 7 points, SIS/Vervoort and Aartsbouw follow on 6 points. The teams De Biljartacademie and J&F Auto's both gathered 1 point and are at the bottom of the league table. The first half of the league continues until the 11th round on Sunday 22 December and then restarts again on 12 January.
