DEURNE - The half misstep BC Deurne made, in a home match against Mister 100 (4-4), remained without consequences for the ranking in the Belgian league. The advantage of the leader (the number two is De Goeie Queue) remained two points, because also Frédéric Caudron's team spoiled one point in the away match against Op de Meir. The best match on the eighth matchday came from Peter Ceulemans, who was on his best against Jef Philipoom 50-43 in 19 innings (2.631/2,263). Eddy Merckx showed up with the highest run: 15.
Two Belgian cracks faced each other in the match between Op de Meir and De Goeie Queue. Eddy Leppens was the better of Frédéric Caudron 50-41 in 20 innings. Barry van Beers, recent Grand Prix winner in the Netherlands, defeated Jean Paul de Bruijn 50-47 in 34.
Martin Horn was the outstanding captain in the Herentals team Herentals, that left the high-ranked Biljart Express far behind: 7-1. The German player showed himself much stronger than Frans van Kuyk and won 50-22 in 21. Christian Rudolph and Gerwin Valentine played a draw in 32 innings.
BC Quality climbed up to third place in the ranking thanks to a 6-2 win over De Ploeg. Eddy Merckx was the best winner in his team, beating Therese Klompenhouwer 50-26 in 24.
