Martin Horn was the riant winner at the championship, unbeaten and with a high run of 18

BAD WILDUNGEN - In the final at the German three cushion championships, Martin Horn won his 14th national title this Monday. The 53-year-old Horn, ranked No 6 in the world, defeated Tom Löwe in the battle for gold. The final ended in 40-24 in 27 innings. Also on the podium were Amir Ibraimov and Tay Dien Truong. The German federation will later designate the two players who will play the World championship in Viersen for Germany.

Martin Horn played an excellent tournament in Bad Wildungen with many generous victories and, among other things, a best run of 18. ,,I’ve not been in trouble for a moment‘’, he assured after his victory and the ceremony. Apart from the run of 18, Horn also made runs of 16, 12, 12 and 10. In the group, he was at his best with 30 in 11, 11 and 9, 90 caroms in 31 innings, good for 2,900 on average.

Horn's final average was 1,879. Tom Löwe took the silver with 1.276 average, Amir Ibraimov was third with 1.454, Truong with 1.039.

The German finalists started the final stage in groups of four, in which Martin Horn won vs Uwe Werner 30-1 in 11, Stefan Dirks 30-11 in 11 and Tobias Bouerdick 30-7 in 9. In the knockouts, Horn was the winner first against Wolfgang Zenkner, the former national coach, 40-22 in 20, then in the quarter-finals against Ramazan Durdu (40-28 in 33) and in the semi-finals against Truong 40-16 in 21.

Truong won in the quarter-finals against Lukas Stamm, Tom Löwe fvs Ronny Lindemann, Amir Ibraimov vs Markus Dömer.

Martin Horn reached the final match by beating in the semi-finals Truong, Tom Löwe beat Amir Ibraimov 40-31 in 26.
