ZUNDERT/OOSTERHOUT - The twelve teams in the Buffalo league in the Netherlands play a double round this weekend, preceding the World championship three cushion in Bordeaux. The match days are the ideal preparation for the global tournament, which starts on Tuesday, the final is played on Saturday, November 19th. Many world class players come tot he tables in this double weekend: Dick Jaspers, Frédéric Caudron, Eddy Merckx, Nikos Polychronopoulos, Murat Naci Coklu, Tayfun Tasdemir and others.
Eureka Billard, the leader, plays the away match against TOVV/Royal Pro on Saturday with Nikos Polychronopoulos as number one player in the TOVV team. In the second half of the competition, Turkish player Birol Uymaz will perform in the first team. Emilio Sciacca will not play anymore for TOVV in the second. Eureka starts the double round at home against Burgmans Billiards.
Team Eekhoorn, of which all four players have extended their contract with three seasons today, starts on Saturday for its home crowd against Buffalo.nl. A1 Biljart ontmoet Dallinga.com. The Zealand team is missing Frédéric Caudron. The Belgian is returns from Seoul that day. He plays again in the home match of his team against Zundert on Sunday.
Bousema Lochem launches its weekend against 't Hartje with the Turkish clash between Murat Naci Coklu, the winner of the La Baule World Cup and Tayfun Tasdemir. HCR Prinsen travels to Burgmans Biljars and plays at home on Sunday against A1 Biljars, both days with Dick Jaspers as leader.
