NIEUWEGEIN/ANDERNOS - The multi-media company Kozoom from Andernos (France) is the new sponsor and namesake of the premier three-cushion league in the Netherlands. The KNBB three-cushion section and Kozoom have agreed on a three-year contract. KNBB section chairman Paul Brekelmans expressed his delight at succeeding DKM Tools as main sponsor and guaranteeing the broadcast of all matches in the highest league.
Kozoom ceo Xavier Carrer is pleased with the KNBB's extended partnership. ’’The Dutch premier league is recognized for many years as the most prestigious club league in Europe. We are proud to attach our name to this league for the next three years. And of course Kozoom will do its utmost to step by step improve the quality of the broadcasts, for all three cushion fans around the world.'' Kozoom has been active in global billiards since 1998 with PC-game billiards, DVD, news, live streaming/scoring and TV production.
Paul Brekelmans: ’’We will definitely try, in cooperation with Kozoom, to improve the images even more: some arenas are a little too dark, but we want to stabilise that. Moreover, we are happy with Kozoom's sponsorship, as it will give us more income to improve our development and training for young players.''
The Dutch premier league, which is broadcast live by Kozoom during all match days, consists of 12 teams, which can field many world-class players. For instance, SIS Schoonmaak has Dick Jaspers and Eddy Merckx, among others, under contract and the championship team wants to field world number one Jaspers more often this year. Furthermore, Frédéric Caudron returns to the Dallinga team in Sluiskil for a number of matches. Other world class players include Martin Horn, among others Nick Polychronopoulos, the winner of the World 3 cushion Survival in Seoul this weekend, who becomes a player in Team Eekhoorn. Apart from international level in the Netherlands, Kozoom is also broadcasting the Masters and the cup finals.
This year's Kozoom league starts on September 24. SIS Schoonmaak is the defending champion.
